November Letter

 Dear Family & Friends,

Hello everyone. How are you doing? I am doing great. We are having a wonderful winter up here in our snow globe. I love life on my mountain. My brothers, dad and mom take good care of me and do lots of things for me.

Dad found me the coolest park in town. When my cousins came for Thanksgiving we took them there and had so much fun! It was so much fun to have my Sintay cousins here for Thanksgiving. We played so much and ate lots of yummy food. I especially love aunt Erin's rolls.

After Thanksgiving we got out all our Christmas decorations and turned our house into a "Christmas House" and Kyle helped me turn my room into a "Christmas Room". I have three trees in my room and lots of lights. I thank Heavenly Father every night in my prayers for my Christmas house and Christmas room. Kyle and I even decorated the downstairs Christmas tree all by ourselves and it is beautiful.

I love to shovel snow (which is a good thing when you live in a snow globe. I love playing with my puppy Chowder. And I love playing games. I especially like to play CamelUp. It's super fun. I can play it on my own for hours.

I am very excited for Christmas to get here. I am trying to be good so Santa will come to my house and I like to learn about Jesus with my family. Christmas is definitely my favorite time of year.

I hope you are enjoying the holidays and are healthy and happy.

October Letter

 Dear Family & Friends,

Hi everybody! I have had a good fall so far! I really love all the colorful leaves on the ground, especially when I get to "help" my brothers and dad rake them. My family and I have gone on a lot of walks to enjoy the color of our mountain so far.

We got to go to Saint George on a vacation! Brando didn't get to come because he had to work at the cookie place. But the rest of us had fun sightseeing, and we saw red rock instead of red leaves. We also got to play with our friends the Hilliards and the Deweys! Saint George does not look like Woodland Hills at all!
My brother turned 18 this month! I can't even count to 18. I loved that his friends came over, because I love getting attention and showing off! I love my brother, and I did him the honor of eating the snacks he got for his birthday! Someday I will be as big as my big brother.
I love my puppy! Chowder and I are together all day (much to mom's dismay), and we are best buddies! Sometimes I am not nice to my puppy, but he is such a patient dog and loves me all the same. I am so grateful to my parents for getting me someone to play with while my brothers are at school.
I got to carve pumpkins on Halloween! When I say I got to carve, I mean I told daddy what I wanted. I made the best pumpkin ever! I love having such great experiences. They will become great memories!
We got to go see the witches! Gardner Village used to be easier to go to, but we still found ourselves down there after my brothers had soccer games. I got to wear my Batman costume! I even have a cool mask, to match the masks everyone else is wearing.
Do you know what I love? Apples. Do you know what else I love? Sprinkles and candy. So what did we make? Caramel apples! I helped mommy make delicious caramel apples, and I love to decorate apples and sugar cookies. I enjoyed eating them too!
I got to have a cool Halloween party with my neighbors! We got to eat candy, make spiders out of spaghetti, and throw glitter over the entire house! (My parents were pleased) I am so glad to have such great friends in my mountain neighborhood!
We also got to decorate sugar cookies at our party! I used more sprinkles and candy than the actual cookies! I also managed to get sprinkles all over the table! So fun!
Because people are getting sick, a fire truck came to give kids candy instead of trick-or-treating. I love fire trucks, so this was a win-win situation! I will take any opportunity to be Batman! I am so grateful for the firemen and police for keeping us safe.
All of my friends had such cool costumes! This was definitely a weird Halloween to be introduced to costumes and trick-or-treating, but I loved every minute of it! Hopefully next year I'll be able to go door to door for delicious candy!
I have loved October! Having no responsibilities makes life so fun! I miss all of my family, and I can't wait to see you guys again! I can't wait to continue exploring the world!

September Letter

 Dear Family & Friends,

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful fall. I am! It's so beautiful up on my mountain. I love walking to the bus stop with Kyle and my puppy Chowder in the morning. I am always the one to spot the bus coming up the road. I am really good at it.

My mom and I and our friends go for walks a lot in the morning as well. We like to walk by the fire station and one day, a fireman was there and even pulled the fire truck out and let us all sit in it and check it out. So cool!!!

Over Labor Day weekend we went up to our friends ranch up Provo Canyon. We got to go on 4-wheelers and make a fire and have smores and do lots of fun things. We even got to go on a horse back ride. I LOVED it!! I might have to take horse riding lessons one day. I decided I like to ride horses even more then riding on wheelers.

I am super helpful. I like to help my dad with garage projects whenever I can. My dad is my best buddy.

I love playing in my backyard with my puppy. Chowder loves to drink from the waterfall. I love to throw balls for him and to jump on the tramp.

I started back up with my speech therapy classes this month. Once a week I get to go to school and work on my sounds. I really love it and my teachers are so nice.

I spend a lot of time playing with my friends Tilly and Blair. They live across the street and our moms are great friends so we are pretty much together every day. Their grandma lives behind them and has a really cool backyard with lots to play on so we play up there a lot. I love where I live!

Kyle loves to take me and Chowder on 4-wheeler rides. It's so fun to ride with my puppy. He likes to ride too. Sometimes we ride and let him chase us. That's super fun!

I hope you are doing well. I know things are kinda crazy right now so I hope you are safe and happy and feel peace. I would love to see you.

August Letter

 Dear Family & Friends,

Hello hello!! Hope you all had a great August! Ours was great but HOT!!! We need rain!! But I did lots of fun things. My aunt Jenny picked me up one Saturday and took me and my cousins to a little farm where we got to see bunnies and lamas and all kinds of cool animals. I love playing with Owen, Emma, Eden and Mila.

My brothers started school towards the end of the month and I started my re-acclamation to life at home without my brothers to entertain me. Good thing I have my puppy Chowder. He and I are best buddies although I am not sure that he would agree with how much I pester him. But someday...

The best thing about this month is that we GOT GRASS in our backyard! One year to the day we bought the house, the sod went in! I LOVE having grass to run and play on. It's so awesome. We had lots of friends come and help us put down the sod and "Guy" and "Aunt Whitney" brought over their soft serve ice cream machine so we all got to eat so much ice cream once we got the work done.

Mom and her friends work out in the mornings, usually in the driveway so I get to play with all my friends. We love to play on the dirt ramp by our house. It's super fun. I am not great at sharing my toys, definitely something I need to work on.

My vocabulary has increased a TON. I start back with school (speech therapy classes) next month to help me with some of my sounds which will be fun. Other then that, mom and Chowder and I hang out at home most of the time, just playing and enjoying the backyard. Mom is literally in heaven with grass and trees and placed to plant flowers in the backyard. She's a bit obsessed actually but I don't blame her. It is really great to have such a beautiful place to play.

I hope you are all doing well. I am excited to see you all next time you are in the area and show you my super cool tricks I can do on the tramp.

July Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hi everyone! I hope you have had a nice and safe and happy July. As always, we've done A LOT of baking. That's just what we do up here on the mountain. I love to help!

For the 4th of July we had a neighborhood breakfast at our neighbors the Harper's house. It was fun. And we watched the fireworks from our back deck which was AWESOME because we could see dozens of shows going off all over Utah county.

We took a camping trip up to Yellowstone this month. It was my first time sleeping in a tent and it was so cool!

I got to play with my cousins Emma, Eden and Mila a lot and had so much fun. They are my best buddies.

We also chartered a boat and went out on a guided fishing tour. It was so cool. We all caught HUGE cut throats and had a fantastic time fishing off the boat.

When we got back from Yellowstone we finally got out dog Chowder. He is so cute and I love playing with him (a little too much at times actually).

Towards the end of the month our backyard project finally started moving. We got a TON of dirt and I loved watching our friend Don bring in his big trucks and move all that dirt around. He also built our rock walls and built me a waterfall in my backyard. I LOVE waterfalls!

We have been doing a lot of work on the backyard as well. I even helped dad put in a brick pad off the bottom deck. I love hard work and I also love loading up rocks in my dumptruck and taking them off into the woods to dump them.

And my friends are over every day to play in the dirt with me. We play all day. Needless to say I get lots of baths lately.

The backyard is almost done, we are just waiting for sod now which hopefully will happen in August or September.

I hope that you are all doing well. I love you all and miss you.

June Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hi, how are you this month. I had a great month. We went to a place called Idaho and we had a lot of fun there. We went to some waterfalls and they were so cool. We went to some ice caves and it was really cold inside. It was so cool to go inside the caves though and we had a lot of fun.

We went on an adventure to a cool place called dripping rock. Kyle and I went in the river and it was so much fun. I love going in the water, and each time my brothers leave to go to the Seven Peaks waterpark I want to go with them.

We had cousins over this month and we had so much fun. We went on lots of adventures and hikes, and jumped on the tramp. We also watched movies with them and played lots of games. I was sad when they left but it was still awesome to have them over. We went to Salem pond and played in the water with our cousins as well. We took kayaks and the older kids went boating. The O'Berry cousins were with us at the pond as well and they even came back to our house after. We went to a waterfall in Provo canyon and we hiked up to the waterfall. It was so much fun.

We are getting a new dog and i'm so excited. We are naming him Charlie but I can't say that so well so whenever I say Charlie is sounds like "Chowlie." He has gotten so big since when he was first born and we go and play with him a lot.

I like to go on adventures with mommy and daddy. We went four wheeling this month down by Santaquin. We had so much fun.

Eric's birthday was this month and I still don't get these birthday things. When Eric got presents I thought they were mine and got upset when I found out they weren't. I also wanted to blow out the candles on his cake but mommy said no. I am still getting the hang of this birthday thing and I think I understand now.

I like going to parks and playing with my friends. I love going outside and I find so many things to do outside. I like playing with my brothers and they are so much fun. I hope you all have a great summer and a great fourth of July because I know I will. Bye.

Love, Sam Wade Barnhisel

May Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello! I hope you had a nice month. I sure did. Except for when my mean old brothers chopped down "my trees". We were having chipper day soon so we were taking out trees. I helped so much and picked up lots of sticks. But I was very sad to see my poor trees get chopped down. I cried for so long because dad chopped down my trees.

I have a garden. But we had to go weed it. We all went and did some hard work. I watered all the plants after. My brothers kept trying to stop me from watering dirt but I didn't let them stop me. I gave all the plants nice long drinks. I cant wait for the next time we have to go, (though my brothers will gladly wait very long).

I have a super cool spider man motorcycle. All I have to do is press the button and it will go. I love to play outside in my driveway. I have lots of bikes and scooters and I also have a mini basketball hoop. 'Cause my brothers say I'm to 'ickle' to play on the big hoop!

We had a nice mothers day. I made a lot of trouble during pictures but dad still got one of my silly face. I ate lots of yummy food and had a nice day!

My favorite big brother and friend Kyle is starting soccer up again. I love to go to the games and watch Kyle's team win. I play lots with my friends and I love to play with a ball.

I went up to blairs cabin. I went on lots of rides and ate lots of yummy treats. I even helped build a fire! I had so much fun with my friend blair. I can't wait to go again!

I love going to the pond. There are lots of friends to play with in the sand. I'm never afraid to make a new friend! I even get to go in the kayak's with my brothers. Sometimes I will see little fish in the water.

I went to a super big waterfall. We hiked to it and it was super cool. I watched my brothers climb around and threw lots of rocks into the water!

I LOVE BUBBLES! I got a new automatic bubble maker and I love to play with it. I love when the bubbles go everywhere. It's so cool!

As you can see, my month was awesome and I hope yours was too.

Love, Sam Wade Barnhisel
